The Exchange Server Toolbox is able to archive your messages on the file system or in a database.
Additionally it creates signatures (in case of file system archiving: XML files also containing further message information) for validating the messages later on when getting them back from the archive.
This validation techniques allows the Exchange Server Toolbox to be able to comply with the German GDPdU law.
