Use cases

The Exchange Server Toolbox allows various application scenarios, from a single installation to multiple servers and distributed client installations.

EST_Usecases

The installation methods of the Exchange Server Toolbox

Standalone installation	The Exchange Server Toolbox is installed and configured on the mail server (MS Exchange).
Master installation	The Exchange Server Toolbox is installed and configured on the mail server. Its configuration is automatically shared with the listed clients. All emails processed by the master and client installations are archived by the master installation.
Client installation	The Exchange Server Toolbox is no longer configurable locally but gets its configuration by the master installation. This installation method is especially useful for multiple Microsoft Exchange Transport servers with Shadow Redundancy
AD-Client installation	The Exchange Server Toolbox is configured locally but retrieves its Active Directory from the master installation. This installation method is especially useful for installations in your DMZ.
