DTA / SEPA conversion

SEPA-Transfer can convert postings from the DTA format to SEPA. As a rule, you can enter both the account number/bank sort code and IBAN and have the data automatically converted into the correct format by SEPA-Transfer.

SEPA-Transfer uses the standard IBAN rule, which is used by most banks, to calculate the IBAN from the account number and sort code. However, some banks use different conversion methods that SEPA-Transfer does not support. No liability can therefore be accepted for the correctness of converted data and any damage caused by possible errors. We recommend checking converted bank details before exporting and, whenever possible, importing or entering an IBAN instead of an account number and sort code.

Converting direct debits - DTA to SEPA

SEPA direct debits require so-called SEPA direct debit mandates. You also need a SEPA creditor identification number, which you can apply for from the Bundesbank. A direct debit mandate can be valid once (i.e. for a single direct debit) or for several direct debits. To be able to use SEPA direct debits in SEPA-Transfer, you must have made the appropriate settings. If you have already created multiple mandates, SEPA-Transfer can  automatically assign these to the corresponding direct debits using the IBAN (or the account number and sort code). If SEPA-Transfer is unable to find suitable mandates during the import, they will be created automatically. Please note that these mandates are probably not valid.
