Advanced Configuration¶
For further configuration options, open the “Scan” tab > “Configure Scans”.
Here, under “Additional options”, you can specify exactly how long DataCentral should keep historically indexed data in the database. We recommend that you never enter 0 days here, as this would mean a constant rebuilding of the data with a corresponding performance load with each update.
Under “Update Options”, you can also adjust the interval at which the index is to be updated. It is also possible to use a live update for NTFS file systems using the change journals.
You can also set under “Scan Filter” whether specific files, file types or entire folders should not be indexed.
Further, even more specific options can be found in the expert options, where you can, for example, specify which instance of DataCentral should perform indexing.
